Arts Nexus has been working with the community since 2007 on developing an idea for a Creative Hub. Over the years we have run surveys, had interviews, sector forums and conference sessions discussing the necessity for a multipurpose, multifunctional, cultural destination.
Global Village Concept will attract locals, visitors and residencies, artists, craftspeople, and our diverse cultural communities.
A collective of creative enterprises, community organisations, incorporated associations and entrepreneurs have come together and are working on a functionality analysis to ensure this concept has have rigorous thought and input from the creative community. Many of these consultations and meetings will be had throughout 2015 and 16.
Global Village (concept) will be socially inclusive with a program of activities that includes community engagement, economic and capacity building and social enterprise.
The following are various case studies that demonstrate the ideas, models, best practice examples of this kind of combined, working studios, creative hub. And yet none of them have what we have – unique environment, a massive influx of cultural tourists and a strong community network.
